Traffic Ticket Guarantee: If We Get You Nothing, You Pay Nothing
On a qualifying New York traffic ticket, if the firm obtains no reduction of any kind, the flat fee is refunded in full. This page is the whole guarantee — there is no other fine print.
Some advertisers promise a “win” or “your money back” in the headline and define what counts in a document you find later. The firm’s terms are on this page, in the order you would ask about them: what is guaranteed, which tickets qualify, what you have to do, and how the refund is paid. The quote you receive before paying says in one line whether your ticket qualifies.
Call toll-free: (888) 275-2620. Available 24/7. Or text a photo of the ticket to (631) 678-8993.
What the Guarantee Says
If your ticket qualifies and the firm obtains no reduction of any kind — not in the charge, not in the points, and not in the fine — the flat fee you paid is refunded in full.
If any one of those is reduced, the firm has earned its fee. A speeding charge reduced to a lower speed, a moving violation reduced to a non-moving one, points reduced, or a fine reduced — each is a reduction, and each is the result of the firm’s appearance and negotiation on your behalf. The guarantee covers the outcome where the appearance produced nothing at all.
That is the definition. It is stated here so that you can compare it with any other guarantee you are offered, and so that there is nothing to discover after you pay.
Which Tickets Qualify
Whether a ticket qualifies depends on three things: the court, the charge, and your driving record. Some courts rarely reduce certain charges; some charges carry mandatory consequences no prosecutor can bargain away; some driving records leave a prosecutor no room to offer anything. The firm reviews all three before quoting.
You find out before you pay. Every quote the firm sends states, in one line, whether the ticket qualifies for the guarantee. If it does not, the firm will still represent you, and will tell you what it expects to be able to do — but the fee on that matter is not refundable on outcome.
The guarantee does not apply to:
- Traffic Violations Bureau matters in New York City, Rochester, Buffalo, or any other TVB location. The TVB does not plea bargain; a hearing officer decides guilt or innocence, and no one can guarantee a reduction there.
- Criminal charges, including DWI, DWAI, reckless driving, aggravated unlicensed operation, and leaving the scene
- Commercial driver’s license holders, whatever vehicle was being driven
- Work-zone speeding (VTL §1180(f))
- Move Over Law tickets (VTL §1144-a)
- Passing a stopped school bus (VTL §1174)
- Disobeying a traffic control device (VTL §1110(a))
- Matters already in default when the firm is retained
- Matters that go to trial rather than negotiated resolution
- Matters in which you negotiated with the prosecutor, or entered a plea, before retaining the firm
- Tickets the officer already wrote at a reduced charge
- Any court identified in your quote as excluded
What You Have to Do
Disclose your driving history. The authorization form you sign asks for every traffic conviction and every open or pending ticket, in New York or any other state or province, within the last 36 months. The guarantee depends on that disclosure. A prosecutor who sees a record you did not disclose will not make the offer the firm quoted on, and the guarantee is void if the disclosure is incomplete.
Respond when asked. The firm will ask you for signatures, documents, or a decision on a plea offer, with a date. Missing those dates can cost the matter, and the guarantee does not cover a result caused by a missed response.
Pay the court directly. Fines and surcharges on any disposition are paid by you to the court. They are not part of the flat fee and not part of any refund.
How the Refund Works
If a qualifying matter resolves with no reduction of any kind, the firm refunds the flat fee within 14 days of the disposition, to the card or account that paid it. You do not have to ask. The disposition letter the firm sends you will say that the refund is being issued.
Why the Firm Can Say This
The firm quotes a ticket after looking at the court, the charge, and the record — not from a price list. If a reduction is unlikely, the quote says so, and the guarantee is not attached. That review is what makes the guarantee possible, and it is the same review that tells you, before you spend anything, what you are likely to get.
The attorney who reviews the ticket is the attorney who appears. Ronald S. Cook has handled New York traffic matters for more than 25 years and appears in town, village, city, and district courts in all 62 counties. There is no network, no assignment, and no second lawyer you have not spoken to.
Send the ticket. The quote tells you whether it qualifies.

Questions About the Guarantee
Is this the same as “win or your money back”?
It is the same promise with the definition in the open. “Win” is not defined on this page because it does not need to be: the fee is refunded if the firm obtains no reduction of any kind, and earned if it obtains one. Read any other guarantee’s definition of “win” before comparing.
What if only the fine is reduced and the points stay the same?
That is a reduction, and the fee is earned. The firm will have told you in the quote what outcome it expected; if points were the concern and the court would not move on them, the quote would have said so, or the ticket would not have qualified.
Does the guarantee cover a Traffic Violations Bureau ticket?
No. The TVB — in New York City, Rochester, Buffalo, and other locations — does not plea bargain. The case is heard by a hearing officer who finds the driver guilty or not guilty. The firm represents drivers at TVB hearings and quotes those matters separately, without the guarantee, and says so before you pay.
I forgot about an old ticket when I signed the form. What happens?
Tell the firm as soon as you remember. If the firm has not yet appeared, it will re-evaluate the quote and tell you whether the guarantee still applies. If the undisclosed history surfaces in court and changes the result, the guarantee is void for that matter.
Does the guarantee apply to out-of-state drivers?
Yes, on the same terms. The disclosure covers your home-state record as well as New York. See the Out-of-State Driver’s Guide to New York Traffic Tickets.
Can the firm change these terms?
The terms that apply to your matter are the ones on this page on the date of your quote, and they are repeated in your engagement letter. The firm may change the terms for future matters; the “last reviewed” date below shows when this page last changed.

Attorney Advertising. This page states the terms of the firm’s fee-refund guarantee for qualifying New York traffic matters and is not legal advice. The guarantee concerns the firm’s fee only; it is not a promise of any particular court outcome, and the firm cannot control what a court or prosecutor decides. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
