Long Island Traffic Ticket Lawyer

Got a traffic ticket on Long Island?

We handle tickets in every court across Nassau County and Suffolk County — the SCTPVA, the NCTPVA, Suffolk District Court, Nassau District Court, and every village and town justice court from Montauk to the Queens border. In most cases, you never need to appear in court. We handle everything.

You do not need to go to court. We appear on your behalf and handle everything — negotiations, motions, and court appearances — so you never have to take time off work or drive back to a court that may be hours from home. One flat fee. No surprises.

Text a photo of your ticket to (631) 678-8993 and we will tell you exactly what you are facing — points, fines, insurance impact, and whether your license is at risk. Text “Quote Request” for a flat-fee quote. Most people hear back within minutes.

Or call toll-free: (888) 275-2620. Available 24/7.

Don’t wait for your court date. Under New York law, there is a 30-day window to demand documents from the prosecution that can result in an outright dismissal of your ticket. The earlier you call, the more options we have.

Our law firm has over 3,000 client testimonials across Google, BBB, Trustpilot, and other platforms. We handle traffic tickets in all 62 New York counties from our offices on Long Island — and our clients across the state speak for themselves.

Our Google reviews — from just one of our office locations — include over 850 five-star ratings. Across our other locations and platforms, we have thousands more. CLICK HERE to view verified client reviews. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.

Why You Should Hire a Lawyer Now — Not Later

There is a window of opportunity on most traffic tickets that closes fast. Under New York law (CPL § 100.25), you have the right to demand a supporting deposition from the officer who issued your ticket — a sworn statement describing exactly what happened. If the demand is made properly and the prosecution fails to provide it within 30 days, the ticket must be dismissed outright. No trial, no plea, no points — dismissed.

But the demand must be made early. The clock starts running from the return date on the bottom of your ticket. If you wait until the last minute to hire a lawyer — or worse, show up to court on your own and try to handle it yourself — that window may have already closed. Once it is gone, you lose a potential basis for a full dismissal that cannot be recovered.

This is not the only time-sensitive opportunity. Depending on the type of ticket, we may also demand radar or lidar calibration records, officer training certifications, speed measurement device maintenance logs, and other documentation that the prosecution is required to produce. Gaps or failures in these records give us additional grounds to challenge the ticket or move for dismissal.

The earlier you contact us, the more options we have.

Tickets We Handle on Long Island

Speeding tickets — on the LIE, Northern State, Southern State, Sunrise Highway, Meadowbrook, Wantagh, Sagtikos, and every local road in between. Long Island’s parkways and expressways are heavily patrolled and speeding tickets are the number one reason people call us.

Cell phone and texting tickets — 5 points per ticket. Two cell phone tickets within 18 months puts you at 10 points, one ticket away from an automatic license suspension.

Red light and stop sign tickets — 3 points each. Do not confuse a police-issued red light ticket (3 points, goes on your record) with a red light camera ticket (no points, civil fine only). If a police officer handed you a ticket, you need a lawyer.

Following too closely, unsafe lane change, failure to yield — common on Long Island’s congested roads and merge-heavy parkways. Each carries 3 to 4 points.

Parkway violations — Long Island’s parkways are automobile-only. If you were cited for operating a commercial vehicle, oversized vehicle, or truck on a parkway, those violations carry significant fines and potential CDL consequences. Out-of-area drivers in vans, moving trucks, and work vehicles get caught on Long Island parkways regularly.

Suspended license, no insurance, unregistered vehicle — these are serious charges that can result in misdemeanor convictions, additional DMV penalties, and even jail time. Do not plead guilty without speaking to an attorney.

DWI, reckless driving, AUO — criminal traffic charges heard at the Suffolk County District Court or Nassau County District Court. These require your personal appearance and carry potential jail time. Get an attorney immediately.

Long Island Courts

Most Long Island traffic tickets are returnable to one of these courts:

SCTPVA — Suffolk County Traffic and Parking Violations Agency, 100 Veterans Memorial Highway, Hauppauge. Handles most traffic infractions in the five western towns of Suffolk County.

NCTPVA — Nassau County Traffic and Parking Violations Agency, 801 Axinn Avenue, Garden City. Handles most traffic infractions in Nassau County.

Suffolk County District Court — Cohalan Court Complex, 400 Carleton Avenue, Central Islip. Handles misdemeanors, criminal traffic charges (DWI, AUO, reckless driving), and felony arraignments.

Nassau County District Court — 99 Main Street, Hempstead. Handles misdemeanors, criminal traffic charges, and felony arraignments for Nassau County.

Village and town justice courts — Long Island has dozens of village and town courts that handle traffic tickets within their jurisdictions. These include courts in Riverhead, Southampton, East Hampton, Southold, Huntington, Babylon, Islip, Brookhaven, Oyster Bay, Hempstead, North Hempstead, and many others. We appear regularly in all of them. Check the court name on your ticket and call us — we will know the court, the prosecutors, and the local practices.

Snap a Photo. Text It to Us. Done!
